Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Dennis is wearing a Matrix-style t-shirt in the late-'80s because he has supposedly developed the "letter idea" himself and has come up with an idea for a film exactly like _Matrix, The (1999)_. The letters are not identical to the Matrix scheme, and the joke is that the idea originated in Eastern Germany.
