Map Location & How to Unlock

The Hakone Nanamagari Touge event is located just north of the Irokawa Space Centre, in the southwestern corner of the Japan map. If you can’t see the event icon or it’s hidden under the green fog:

Earn Stamps and Wristbands: Progress through the Discover Japan Stamps until you reach the Blue / Traveller Stamp tier. This will trigger most hidden event unlocks.
Drive to the Location: Take your vehicle directly to the greyed-out roads in Nangan. Once there, the fog clears, and the Hakone Nanamagari Touge race becomes available.
Hidden Barn Find: While exploring, check just west of the Touge route to discover a barn housing the 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R. It’s a great bonus for your garage and a fun car for subsequent races.
Best Car Setup & Tuning Strategy

Success on this touge relies on how your car handles corners, not its straight-line speed. For Series 1’s "Gazoo Racer" Summer Weekly Challenge, the 2022 Toyota GR86 is required, but the following principles work for any vehicle:

Tires and Suspension: Use Race or Horizon Drift suspension to maximize grip and agility. Sport or semi-slick tires work best for speed-focused runs, while drift tires are ideal for tackling the adjacent Drift Zone.

Drive Downhill: Starting your drift from the top provides momentum for wider angles and higher scores.
Minimize Transitions: The hairpins are close together, so rather than weaving, maintain extended drift angles through main corners to keep multipliers active.
Assist Settings: Turn off Traction Control and Stability Management to avoid engine power cuts during slides, giving you maximum control over drift angles.

Familiarize yourself with the sequence of corners before racing seriously.
